Food fortified with vitamins, minerals or amino acids may be marketed in Norway subject to a procedure of prior approval.
Applications for the addition of such substances to foods must be sent to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority (NFSA) for approval.

The Norwegian Food Safety Authority is obliged to impose a fee on the handling of the petition on fortification. There will also be an administration fee of NOK 100.
