In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which causes the disease Covid-19, there are extra stringent requirements for infection control among employees and in the general population.

In this guide (updated May 12th, 2021), the authorities provide advice and information on good infection control for Norwegian producers of fruits, berries, vegetables and potatoes. If you have any doubts about the advice, it is the health authorities' infection control rules that apply.

The guide has been produced by the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority, the Matmerk Foundation and the County Governor of Vestland. It is based on a template for guides published by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI) on 28 April 2020, and the guide was submitted for a brief hearing with the FHI and the Norwegian Agrarian Association’s (Bondelaget) working group for vegetable production.
