International coordination
We participate in the EU Commission's development and revision of EEA-relevant regulations. We also participate in several other international forums.
The Norwegian Food Safety Authority participates actively in:
- World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH)
- IPPC (The International Plant Protection Convention)
- EPPO (European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organisation)
- The European Council (promotes democracy, human rights and legal development in the Member States)
- Codex Alimentarius (Food safety, under WHO/FAO)
- Participates in nine standing committees under the auspices of the EU
- Participates in many working groups and expert groups under the auspices of the EU
- Nordic Council Executive Committee for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Agriculture, Food and Forestry (EK-FJLS), and associated working groups
- EuFMD (The European Commission for the Control of Foot-and-Mouth Disease)
- NBVCG (Nordic- Baltic Veterinary Contingency Group)
The CVO-position (Chief Veterinary Officer) is part of the NFSA head office.
