Begrunnelse for etterevalueringen
The objectives set in this project were achieved by the experiment conducted. The collected data provide new knowledge about the relevance of optimal vitamin E nutrition during PRV-1 infection in Atlantic salmon. This opens the door to further explore the role of vitamin E in the immune system of fish and how optimized nutrition may contribute to healthy and robust fish
The number of fish and severity of the experimental procedure followed the project description.
The experiment was conducted following established protocols at best available practice. The selected methods were appropriate. However, the animals in the experiment were larger than expected. Therefore, the stocking density of the tanks was reduced throughout the experiment, in accordance with refinement criteria, to avoid any crowding stress.
